GTE Sylvania's new 32-watt SuperSaver Plus fluorescent bulb uses less energy because of thermally activated switches that reduce the 34 watts needed to start the lamp to 32 watts needed to maintain the light and reduced ballast power losses. Specifications and cost comparisons show that the SuperSaver Plus will pay for itself in 9 to 15 months, depending on electricity rates and the type of bulb it replaces. (DCK)
