K-shell ionization in the beta decay of /sup 141/Ce

The total K-shell ionization probability accompanying the ..beta../sup -/ decay of /sup 141/Ce to the 0.145-MeV level in /sup 141/Pr was determined to be (1.79 +- 0.11) x 10/sup -4/ from Pr K..cap alpha.. x rays in coincidence with the 0.145-MeV gamma ray. This result is in very good agreement with the theoretical calculations of Law and Suzuki.
