Book ·
OSTI ID:5713769
The search for new and renewable energy sources is becoming more urgent in the effort to keep Third World economies and societies from stagnating. The United Nations Development Program, which supports 386 energy projects at a cost of $127.4 million and 450 forestry projects at $177 million, commissioned this study to update renewable-energy-technology assessments and provide developing countries with information on their application. It summarizes activities that are promoting unconventional-energy development and identifies specific barriers to renewable-energy development to help countries with their planning and policymaking. 42 references, 10 figures, 5 tables.
