During 1980, the level of activity in all three CSD districts covered by this report, Arkansas, North Louisiana, and East Texas, surpassed the 1979 level of drilling activity, which was at the highest level during the past 10 years. All three districts have had a large development drilling increase. Arkansas had a slight increase in exploratory drilling, while the north Louisiana and east Texas exploratory drilling level had a more sizable increase. Success ratios in exploratory drilling increased slightly in both east Texas and Arkansas. As to development drilling success, both north Louisiana and east Texas had an increase, while the Arkansas development drilling success declined. 5 figures, 6 tables.
