High-energy pp scattering in the Glauber representation

A modification of the Glauber representation is suggested for obtaining the elastic-scattering amplitude for composite systems with allowance for effects of ''recoil'' and ''squashing.'' The expression so derived is used to describe the differential cross section for elastic pp scattering at s/sup 1/2/ = 53 GeV in the framework of the composite quark model.
