Experiments were performed on the A-phase of superfluid /sup 3/He in order to investigate the various flow induced textures. The region of stability in the flow and field plane was determined by increasing the applied magnetic field parallel to the direction of the superflow. A moving three-bellows system driven with /sub 4/He in the outer bellows was used to create constant mass flows in the range 0 to 3 mm/s. Textures in the fluid were observed using the anisotropic attenuation of 30 MHz zero sound. A transition occurred as the magnetic field was increased during constant flow. The signature of the texture transition was consistent with helical texture theory. The boundary determined from these measurements was also in qualitative agreement with theoretical predictions, but there is a substantial discrepancy over the magnitude of velocities for which the uniform texture is stable. Specifically, uniform flow aligned textures stable up to velocities about four times as large as predicted were found.
