Poly(ether ether ketone) and poly(arylene sulfide) matrix laminates have been dynamically tested in simple shear with deformation in the plane of the laminations and the matrix in the melt state. Continuous fibers were aligned either parallel or perpendicular to the deformation direction. The frequency range was from 10 to 60 Hz and the temperatures were 360, 380, and 400{degree}C for PAS composites. Results indicate that at sufficiently small deformations, interply slip does not occur. Also, resin properties dominate in the relative magnitudes of viscous and elastic responses for the lowest temperature.
