This patent describes a method of making a poly(arylene sulfide/sulfone) extrudate. It comprises heating an amorphous poly(arylene sulfide/sulfone) feedstock resin at an elevated temperature but below the melting temperature of the poly(arylene sulfide/sulfone) resin in a vacuum environment; and extruding the resin, resulting in smooth extrudate having reduced inclusion of gas bubbles.
