UAE-Dubia: World Oil Report 1991
This paper reports that Dubai is continuing to produce at a capacity level of 400,000+ bpd of crude and condensate. Although Dubai Petroleum Co. (DPC) has announced a reduction in expenditures for 1991, the cut is due to fewer construction projects and is not expected to affect basic drilling and production operations. All of DPC's production is from offshore giants Fateh and Southwest Fateh fields (both with reserves in excess of 500 million bbl), plus smaller Fala and Rashid fields. Dubai Natural Gas Co. also operates several gas wells on one of DPC's platforms. Onshore, Dubai Exploration Onshore Ltd. acquired a concession late in 1989 which calls for three wells to be drilled over three years. One 14,000 ft wildcat was spudded last year and is presumed dry. Also onshore, Arco produces gas and condensate from Margham field. Early last year, Arco purchased BP's 1/3 share in the Margham concession to become the sole interest owner.
