Dissociation of uranium hexafluoride by laser radiation

Dissociation of the UF/sub 6/ molecules exposed to focused CF/sub 4/ laser radiation was observed. The yield was increased by vibrational excitation of the UF/sub 6/ molecules with ultraviolet N/sub 2/ laser radiation.
