Ternary borides of the CeNi/sub 12/B/sub 6/-type structure

It was shown that the previously known LnNi/sub 12/B/sub 6/ and approx. LnNi/sub 12/B/sub 7/ (Ln = Y, La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) and the first prepared borides of LnNi/sub 12/B/sub 6/ (Ln = Tb, Dy) have an orthorhombic structure of the type CeNi/sub 12/B/sub 6/. The unit-cell parameters were determined for all the compounds. The uniform change in parameters indicates a trivalent rare-earth state.
