High-resolution CT scanners image mediastinal structures well. It is often helpful, especially in the abnormal mediastinum, to opacify vascular structures. CT scanning of the opacified and nonopacified normal thoracic duct has been reported. The authors describe a noninvasive method of opacifying the thoracic duct for CT scanning.
