Development of an equation of state for computation of supercompressibility factors, critical flow factors, and other properties for wet, sour natural gases, synthetic gases, and admixtures. Annual report, October 1984-September 1985
A highly accurate equation of state for sweet/dry natural gases has been extended to include wet and/or sour natural gas systems to meet gas custody-transfer needs. The correlation is applicable over wide ranges of temperature, pressure and composition. For water-sweet natural gas systems, uncertainties are less than 0.1% in the compressibility factor, Z, up to water saturation conditions in the custody transfer region. Uncertainties in the PVT data for H/sub 2/S systems make associated equation uncertainties difficult to quantify for sour natural gases. It is felt that for 3% H/sub 2/S natural gas mixtures equation uncertainties are on the order of 0.1%. This work has pointed to the need for better sour gas PVT data.
