Clean Air Act: ginned up numbers costly for RECs

Journal Article · · N.D. REC Mag.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5662000
The review and reauthorization of the Clean Air Act is discussed. Cost and availability of electric power for Rural Electric cooperatives (REC) is directly affected by the Act. Many RECs will support modifications of the law which will remove certain arbitrary numbers from the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) Section. These include PSD Class one 24-hour and 3-hour increments for sulfur dioxide and the 24-hour increment for total suspended particulates. The repeal is not expected to have an adverse effect on the health and welfare of people or their property. (JMT)
