Data are presented on the energy and angle dependence of the charge-symmetry superratio {ital R} and simple ratios {ital r}{sub 1}{sup {prime}} and {ital r}{sub 2}{sup {prime}} for {pi}{sup {plus minus}} elastic scattering from {sup 3}H and {sup 3}He. {ital r}{sub 1}{sup {prime}} and {ital r}{sub 2}{sup {prime}} were normalized with respect to {pi}{sup +}{ital d} and {pi}{sup {minus}}{ital d} elastic scattering, which is assumed to have the ratio 1.0. The beam energies are {ital T}{sub {pi}}=142, 180, and 220 MeV, and the scattering angle, {theta}{sub {ital L}}, ranges from 40{degree} to 110{degree}. In all cases measured it is found that {ital R}{gt}1, {ital r}{sub 1}{sup {prime}}{congruent}1, and {ital r}{sub 2}{sup {prime}}{gt}1. These results provide substantial evidence for charge-symmetry violation. The angular distributions for {pi}{sup {plus minus}} H and {pi}{sup {plus minus}} {sup 3}He elastic scattering also have been measured and comparisons are made with various model calculations.
