High energy (/sup 3/He, d) proton stripping by /sup 27/Al and /sup 28/Si nuclei: Transitions to excited states
Angular distributions for the /sup 27/Al(/sup 3/He, d)/sup 28/Si* and /sup 28/Si(/sup 3/He, d)/sup 29/P* reactions have been measured at EHe = 130 MeV in the angular range of 9/sup 0/< or approx. =theta/sub c.m./< or approx. =40/sup 0/. In the proton-unbound excitation energy region, four prominent peaks (E/sub x/ = 11.61, 12.67, 13.26, and 14.33 MeV) from the /sup 27/Al(/sup 3/He, d)/sup 28/Si reaction and three peaks (E/sub x/ = 6.59, 8.08, and 10.17 MeV) from the /sup 28/Si(/sup 3/He, d)/sup 29/P reaction, are reported and analyzed for the first time. The data have been analyzed in terms of the DWBA theory, using optical model and other relevant parameters determined in a previous paper on the ground state transitions. In general, satisfactory fits to the experimental angular distributions are obtained. Spectroscopic information has been extracted and compared with the results available in the literature.
