DISTORTED WAVE EFFECTS IN STRIPPING

Measurements of the (p, gamma ) angular correlations for the reactions Si/sup 28/(d, p gamma )Si/sup 29/ (1.28 Mev) and Si/sup 29/ (2.03 Mev) wer e made in the (d, p) reaction plane with the protons detected on the observed peak of the In = 2 stripping angular distributions. Assuming distorted-wave stripping, the data were fitted to the formalism of Huby et al. for which good agreement was obtained. (C.J.G.)
