Basic mathematics and computer techniques for coal preparation and mining

Book ·
OSTI ID:5649762
Uses of computers, mathematical models and statistical analysis in decision-making in the coal industry are described. Some simple mathematical techniques are presented for determining optimum mine and preparation sites, and for improving property evaluations and projecting drill core data. Considerations in the design of coal preparation plants, operation of thermal dryers, and interpretation of coal analytical data for metallurgical coking or steam production purposes are discussed. The use of computing facilities in analysis of coal washability and surveying data are included. Each chapter has been abstracted separately.
