Metabolic model for cadmium in man

Presented is a metabolic model to calculate the expected cadmium accumulation in critical human organs, tissues, and body fluids at different cadmium intake levels. The model is formulated in terms of a flow scheme for cadmium among eight body compartments and consists of several differential equations. Coefficients for cadmium flow are estimated from empirical data collected for both humans and animals.
