Extraction of coals of the Kansk-Achinsk Basin by organic solvents

The study relates to brown coals from the Kansk-Achinsk Coalfield which were extracted with a mixture of ethylene-diamine and dimethylformamide. This mixture was found to fractionate the organic substance of the brown coals into typical extracts and residues in terms of chemical composition and properties. The paper demonstrates how the yields of extracts and the composition of the separated fractions are distinctively related to the behaviour of the initial coal during hydrogenation.
