The authors have determined the corrosion rate and the character of local damage in high-alloy nickel alloys and steel 12Kh18N10T in aqueous solution and in the vapor phase of 5% NaCl - 0.5% CH/sub 3/COOH saturated with hydrogen sulfide at partial pressures of 0.2-1.8 MPa and temperatures of 20-150 degrees C. The alloys NMZhMts 28-2.5-1.5, 36NKhTYu, and 68NKhVKTYu and steel 12Kh18N10T undergo local corrosion. The alloys 36NKhTYuM8, 06KhN28MDT, 36NkhTYuM5, and 40NKKhTYuMD are recommended for use in natural gas deposits containing hydrogen sulfide, including those with high concentrations of the latter.
