Risk elements in cogeneration projects
The cogeneration industry is a growing part of the portfolio of energy investments held by the financial community. Many investment opportunities are availible. The industry has a good foundation in the economic benefits it provides to participants and to society at large. Involvement in cogeneration projects is not, however, a riskless investment to the Financial Participants. The nonconventional structure typical of cogeneration projects compels investors to subject each business opportunity to intense scrutiny. Developers and designers of cogeneration projects can find a warm reception for their projects in the financial community if they are aware of the interests and the needs of prospective Financial Participants, and take steps - in advance - to address them, and put them to rest.
