Title: Charmless nonleptonic rare decays of B mesons

Branching ratios of nonleptonic exclusive two-body decays of {ital B} mesons without final-state charm particles are studied in detail. The technique used for evaluating the nonleptonic decay amplitudes is elucidated. The dominant charmless decay channels are {ital B}{sub {ital u}}{sup +}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup +}{eta}{prime}, {pi}{sup +}{eta}{prime},{rho}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0}, {rho}{sup +}{eta},{rho}{sup +}{eta}{prime}, {rho}{sup +}{omega},{ital B}{sub {ital d}}{sup 0} {r arrow}{ital K}{sup 0}{eta}{prime},{eta}{eta}{prime},{eta}{prime}{eta}{prime},{ital K}{sup *+}{pi}{sup {minus}},{rho}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}},{ital K}{sup *+} {rho}{sup {minus}}, {rho}{sup +}{rho}{sup {minus}}, which should be interesting for experimental observation. The implications of the quark-diagram scheme are also discussed.
