This report describes the calibration of the beam energy of the Large Electron-Positron Collider (LEP) at CERN for the 1991 running period. An intensive program of investigations and the utilization of resonant de-polarization of transversely polarized electron beams led to improved measurements of the mass, [ital M][sub [ital Z]], and the width, [Gamma][sub [ital Z]], of the [ital Z][sup 0] boson. The [ital preliminary] results are: [ital M][sub [ital Z]]=(91.187[plus minus]0.0035[plus minus]0.0063) GeV and [Gamma][sub [ital Z]]=(2.492[plus minus]0.0053[plus minus]0.0045) GeV, where the first error is statistical and the second arises from the uncertainties of the energy calibration.
