Virial coefficients of pure gases and mixtures. A critical compilation

Book ·
OSTI ID:5599003
Over the past century, many scientists have become involved with the behavior of real gases - as opposed to perfect or ideal gases - because of practical problems that arise in many diverse aspects of thermodynamics. In 1969, Oxford University published a revised version (twice the original length) of M.L. McGlashan's tables of the virial coefficients of pure gases. This latest volume, published in 1980, is some three times longer than the 1969 edition and includes a comprehensive collection of material published through early 1979 not only for pure substances but for binary mixtures as well. Although a name index is provided for convenience in finding data (especially for complex organic substances), the proper entry to the tables is by way of a formula index based on the Chemical Abstracts system. Besides presenting the sets of data, this compilation attempts, where possible, to assess the quality of the second virial coefficient quoted.
