Now in the final construction phase, the 24-in., 60-mile Froslev-Egtved section of Denmark's new transmission line will operate at 1175 psi. The steel, spiral-welded pipe has an extruded-polyethylene outer coating and an internal epoxy layer. The pipeline route runs through fairly flat agricultural country with some marshy areas. Also under construction are four meter/regulator stations along the section. Denmark expects the entire transmission system to cost about $650 million.
