Gas plant custom made for Bell Creek

Journal Article · · Pet. Eng.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5594422
Scheduled for completion in Dec. is a $1,900,000 air- cooled process plant at Bell Creek field, Mont., designed for 75% propane recovery from 15 MMcfd of 3.8 gpm casinghead gas. Commercial propane and a butane-gasoline mix will be produced. The compressor station was originally sized for 13.5 MMcfd of inlet gas, but the recent addition of Ranch Creek field gas and new Bell Creek wells has brought the anticipated inlet gas volume to 22.5 MMcfd, requiring additional compressors. The process plant, originally designed for 15 MMcfd of inlet gas, will be able to process over 20 MMcfd with some reduction in efficiency, yielding about 13,000 gal of propane and 62,000 gal of 35-lb RVP gasoline per day. It now appears that this added capacity will be fully utilized and that even further expansion may be required. Lease fuel demand is expected to be 2,000 to 3,000 Mcfd, which is about one-fourth of the residue gas volume.
