This patent describes a modular fuel delivery system. It comprises a reservoir in a vehicle fuel tank, an electric fuel pump in the reservoir having a high pressure discharge and an inlet open to the reservoir so that the fuel pump pumps fuel exclusively from the reservoir, hose means for conducting fuel from the high pressure when the renewed value of the abnormality determination value falls outside a second predetermined range defined by predetermined upper and lower limit values.
