Book ·
OSTI ID:5576620
This conference report recommends that the Senate recede from its disagreement to the House amendment to S.1518 and agree to the insertion of this committee's amendment. The purpose of the modified version would encourage the development and widespread use of methanol, ethanol, and natural gas as transportation fuels and the production of new motor vehicles powered by these three alternative fuels. Issues discussed are amendments to the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, use of nonstandard fuels, amendment to the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act, electric vehicles, automobile labeling, and study on residential energy pricing.
