Title: Equatorial Guinea: World Oil Report 1991

This paper reports that Walter International drilled the first of two appraisal wells in Alba gas field, which was discovered in 1984 by Gepsa. Walter drilled Alba 2 in 246 ft of water. The objective was the Isongo gas formation in Miocene sands. The well encountered about 390 ft of potential pay in several sands. Tests over 42 ft of perforated interval flowed 18.6 MMcfgd and 1,004 bcpd. Development of the proved 13 MMbbl of condensate and 400 Bcf of gas depends on results from the first well.
