Advanced stimulation technology deployment program. Final report, January 1995-March 1997

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:557524
GRI undertook an aggressive technology transfer program to deploy the results from over a decade of research in the area of hydraulic fracturing. The Advanced Stimulation Technology (AST) Deployment Program has been highly successful in disseminating AST as widely as possible to the natural gas industry through programs with producers and service companies which focused on education, training, demonstration and documentation on a level such that the technology would continue to be practiced beyond completion of the program. The program has developed the knowledge base allowing industry (producers, service companies and consultants) to apply AST on a routine basis. Technology demonstrations and economic benefits have been fully documented in over 19 case histories. Over 60 producers have supplied documentation stating they have benefited from AST technologies and are continuing to apply these technologies, either internally or externally through service companies and/or consulting companies. In addition, the program has provided important training tools that will continue to be used by industry, which include video, course notes, technology descriptions and summaries, and a multimedia CD-ROM.
