Chloroform solutions of Bi, Cd, Ga, In, Ni, Pb, and Tl(III) 8-hydroxyquinolinates, Bi, Cd, Pb, and Zn dithizonates, As(III), Bi, and Te(IV) diethyldithiocarbamates, and Au(III) and Hg(II) cupferronates separate into two phases upon addition of diantipyrylmethane salts and inert solvents, the elements being completely extracted in the microphase formed. The versatility of diantipyrylmethane salts as reagents for solvent extraction preconcentration of elements from nonaqueous solutions has been shown.
