This paper reports on improved conventional gas-fired appliances and equipment fuel efficiency, features and general attractiveness which have made the gas option more viable for new construction, for rehabilitation/renovation projects and stimulated conversions to natural gas. Limits of conventional gas measurement, regulation and interior distribution technology, however, have impeded full use of natural gas equipment. These limits are: Large gas meters and cumbersome meter set assemblies, Labor-intensive black steel interior pipe, Difficult-to-connect gas fired equipment.
