Computer analysis of ribosomal 5S RNA sequences and their correlation with biochemical structural data

The sequence of 350 ribosomal 5S RNAs were analyzed by computer alignment procedures and lead to secondary structural models, which are in agreement with chemical and biochemical structural studies. In addition, two tertiary structural models are proposed for eubacterial 5S rRNAs. 21 refs., 4 figs., 3 tabs.
