Electrical parameters and energy of radiation from a miniature pulsed lamp

The characteristics of lamps with a discharge gap 2 mm in diameter and 25 mm long are studied. The UV spectra of the radiation from the pulsed lamps were measured with a DFS-29 vacuum spectrometer for recording the VUV boundary of the radiation and its shift, when the energy fed into the STE-1 spectrograph was increased in order to resolve and observe the molecular structure of the bands of SiO. When the plasma adequately fills the gas-discharge volume, the efficiency of the lamp is equal to 45%; this value is the maximum value.
