Radiative capture of tensor and vector polarized deuterons by sup 3 H at 400 keV

The {sup 3}H({ital {rvec d}},{gamma}){sup 5}He reaction observables {sigma}({theta}), {ital A}{sub {ital y}}({theta}), and {ital A}{sub {ital yy}}({theta}) have been measured at seven angles with a 400 keV incident deuteron beam which was stopped in a tritiated titanium target. The data have been fit using a transition matrix element analysis. This analysis indicates that the cross section is primarily channel spin {ital S}=3/2 {ital E}1 radiation, with approximately 2.5% {ital S}=1/2 {ital E}1 radiation and 2.5% {ital M}1 radiation.
