The authors examine the layout and design features of the accelerating tube of a pulse electron accelerator. Results of tests of the partition insulator of the tube for an accelerating voltage of 1 MV, a beam current of 50 kA, and a pulse duration of ca. 5 ..mu..sec are given. Tests of the accelerating tube show its performance and the high reliability of the selected insulation.
