Mass transfer is important in many dynamic processes that occur, both in scientific studies and in engineering applications. In particular, the rate of incorporation of trace gases into aqueous droplets in the atmosphere has recently received much attention because of its relevance to acid precipitation. In the present paper, experimental results are reported on the interfacial mass transfer of gaseous ozone into aqueous phase: the accommodation coefficient for ozone has been measured for the first time.
