Angle-resolved photoemission studies of single-crystalline La-doped Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu- 90-K superconductors (Bi{sub 2.0}Sr{sub 1.8}Ca{sub 0.8}La{sub 0.3}Cu{sub 2.1}O{sub 8+{delta}}) were performed utilizing synchrotron radiation covering the photon energy range 10--40 eV. The data conclusively reveal a dispersionless character of the valence-band states as a function of the wave-vector component parallel to the {ital c} axis, in agreement with the predictions of band calculations. Band effects are evident from both intensity modulations of the spectral features in the valence band and from energy dispersions as a function of the wave vector component lying in the basal {ital a}-{ital b} plane.
