We have measured n{sub 2} and two-photon absorption coefficients in type: IIa diamond at {lambda} = 1064, 532, 355 and 266 nm using Z-scan technique and picosecond pulses from a modelocked Nd:YAG laser. The observed dispersion is compared to the two-band theory of semiconductors.
