High efficiency catalytic cracking stripping process

This patent describes, a process for the catalytic cracking of a heavy, hydrocarbonaceous feel to lighter components by contact of the feed with a source of hot regenerated catalyst to form a mixture of spent catalyst and cracked products which mixture is separated into a cracked products rich vapor phase and a spent catalyst phase, the spent catalyst is stripped in a catalyst stripper to remove strippable materials and produce stripped catalyst comprising coke and unstripped hydrocarbons, and the stripped catalyst is then regenerated with an oxygen-containing gas to produce hot regenerated catalyst which is recycled to contact fresh feed, an improvement. It comprises: subjecting the spent catalyst to microwave radiation treatment after separation of the spent catalyst from cracked products and before regeneration of the catalyst.
