Multipole and nonadiabatic corrections to the two-Coulomb-exchange effective potential in electron- or positron-atom scattering at threshold energy

A simple expression is derived for all multipole nonadiabatic corrections to the long-range effective potential at threshold energy due to the exchange of two Coulomb photons in electron-atom scattering. Multipole and nonadiabatic corrections are treated on equal footing. Transverse photon exchanges and hence retardation effects are ignored.. The same results hold for positron-atom scattering.
