Structure-function factorization in cumulative photoproduction of protons

Experimental results on cumulative photoproduction of protons in /sup 12/C are presented as a function of the light-cone variable ..cap alpha.. and p/sub perpendicular/. It is shown that for ..cap alpha..>1 and p/sub perpendicular/> or =0.5 GeV/c the structure function f(..cap alpha..,p/sub perpendicular/) factorizes: f(..cap alpha..,p/sup 2//sub perpendicular/) = f/sub 1/ (..cap alpha..)f/sub 2/(p/sup 2//sub perpendicular/). Here the functions f/sub 1/(..cap alpha..) and f/sub 2/(p/sup 2//sub perpendicular/) have an exponential form.
