The Nuclear Incident Liability Reform Act of 1985 (H.R. 2665) amends the Price-Anderson provisions of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to modify certain limitations on the amount of financial protection required with respect to nuclear incidents. It also removes the limitations on the aggregate liability for a single nuclear incident and limits the financial obligations of the US with respect to such incidents. The Bill increases the role of private liability insurance.
