The US Materials Transportation Bureau amends its final rule on requirements for testing, on a sampling basis, cathodic protection on short sections of transmission lines. The revised rule, which becomes effective 4/7/80, now allows cathodic protection testing on a sampling basis of separately protected sections of mains or transmission lines, regardless of their length, if annual tests are impractical.
