Conference ·
OSTI ID:5496408
With increasing emphasis on energy, transportation, health care systems and environment in this decade and in the twenty first century, activities in the development and use of efficient, economic and environmentally safe batteries and battery-interactive power systems is expected to generate enormous technical challenges and economic opportunities. The objective of the Annual Battery Conference on Applications and Advances is to fill the need for improved communication between the developers and users of battery systems and interface electronic power conversion and control equipment through deliberation on issues of research and development of various battery-interactive electrical power systems in commercial, industrial, space and defense applications, and industrial exhibits. The Conference '93 features seven technical sessions and a number of industrial exhibits. The technical sessions contain nearly 50 papers by scientists and engineers involved in research, development, and applications in battery interactive power systems. These sessions focus on specific issues of research, development, methodologies of design and analysis, safety, modeling, manufacturing and application engineering in space and terrestrial power systems, with special emphasis on research activities and the status of Electric Vehicles and candidate batteries. The industrial exhibits will be educational in nature, and will provide useful technical information on products, and concepts. Papers have been processed separately for inclusion on the data base.
