A description of the planning framework used to develop the GRI R D program includes major R D policies, principles, guidelines, objectives, project appraisal methodology and budget formation, federal R D impacts, advisory body recommendations, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) guidelines. An overview is presented of the 1992 R D budget and program direction. The description of the proposed 1992-1996 R D Plan includes the R D rationale, objectives, goals, accomplishments, strategies, and milestones for Supply Options, End Use, Gas Operations, and Crosscutting Research. Appendixes present the rosters of GRI's member companies and major advisory bodies; project-level budget and research objective summaries for proposed 1992 R D; and a glossary of terms.
