Some observations on a paraffin-wax phase change experiment

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5493552
Some melting and freezing experiments with N-Octadencane paraffin wax are described. Their results are analyzed using a variety of mathematical techniques for conduction phase-change problems. It is concluded that the thermal conductivity of the solid wax used in the tests should be about 3.5 times the literature value.
