Thirteen witnesses spoke at a February 18, 1981 hearing on the economic impacts of President Reagan's decision to decontrol prices of crude oil and petroleum products. Of primary concern was whether complete decontrol will lead to supply shortages or exorbitant prices. Witnesses displayed a range of perceptions of these effects. Giving testimony were DOE Secretary Edwards and representatives of oil companies and their affiliates, labor unions, and consumer groups. Their testimony is followed by letters, reports, and other materials submitted for the record. (DCK)
