(Graphite and carbon/carbon composition)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5485419
This report covers the author's attendance at the international conference, CARBON '88, held at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, on September 18--23, 1988, and ancillary program planning meetings held at Newcastle, United Kingdom (UK), and Juelich, Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). The conference presented two half-day sessions on nuclear applications of graphite which were well attended by people with both fission and fusion interests. This author presented two papers containing work to which C. R. Kennedy of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) had been a major contributor. One paper provides an empirical correlation between graphite creep and dimensional changes; the other describes dimensional behavior of an anisotropic graphite used in the N Reactor at Richland, Washington.
